Heather Rae McGehee Arnold, 44, of Lewisburg, WV, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 30, 2019.
Heather was born on April 1, 1975, and insisted throughout her life that being born on April Fool’s Day colored her personality.
Perhaps that was the source of her sense of humor; she was wickedly funny. Heather was as kind as she was funny. She was a professional caretaker for over 25 years, but it was more than a job. A self-described meddler, Heather took care of everyone in her life. She had your back. For reals.
Heather graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston, WV, and after graduation was deeply committed to the development of a punk music scene in West Virginia. In 2015, she married the love of her life, John Arnold, at the Irish Pub on Washington Street in Lewisburg.
Most recently, Heather served as a campaign assistant to her dear friend, Cindy Lavender-Bowe.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and a loving wife.
Heather is survived by her husband, John Arnold; her son, Patric McGehee; her daughter, Quinn Leedy; her granddaughter, Amethyst McGehee; her father, Fred McGehee; her brother, Brennan McGehee; two nieces; and a host of friends whose lives are better for having known her.
Funeral services for Heather will be held at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019, with Pastor Greg Scott officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
