MAXWELTON W.Va. (WVDN) – The Maxwelton Ruritan Club presented the Gold Scoop Award to Elizabeth Christie during the August picnic. Every year after the State Fair of West Virginia, the club honors the member whose hard work and dedication was invaluable to the club’s success.
The club donates all proceeds from the ice cream concession stand back to the community. They donate to Penny Pitch, Shop with a Cop, Family Refuge Center, CYAC and 4-H clubs. In the past three years, the club has paid to have fire hydrants placed in the local community.
The Maxwelton Ruritan Club meets the fourth Thursday of each month at the Henning Church of God on Vago Road. The dinner meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. They welcome the opportunity to meet you and tell you more about the club and dinner is on them!
