BLAIR MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY W.Va. (WVDN) – An arrest has been made regarding a reported grand larceny in the vicinity of Kelly Hollow Road off Blair Mountain Highway. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:
“On August 31, 2024, Senior Trooper T. D. Adkins responded to an area located off Blair Mountain Highway (WV Route 17) near Kelly Hollow Road, after the victims, Tren Services, Inc. and Arch Resources, Inc. reported a grand larceny.
“The victims advised unknown suspect(s) stole a white and orange in color, 2011 Bobcat 325G excavator, a blue in color, Miller welder, a 14-foot black in color BigTex flatbed trailer with a wooden deck, and approximately $100,000.00 in copper. Estimated loss value of commercial equipment and property is approximately $157,00.00.
“During the investigation, Senior Trooper Adkins obtained and reviewed video evidence, conducted canvass and witness interviews, and identified suspects.
“On September 4, 2024, arrest warrants were executed, and Jeremy Ray Weekley was taken into custody for Breaking and Entering, Grand Larceny, Destruction of Property, Transferring Stolen Property, and Conspiracy. Weekly was transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail to await arraignment. Additionally, all stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner. This investigation remains active and ongoing.”
