Bobby Gene Snedegar, known by many as “Bobby Gene the Dancing Machine,” of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019, at the White Sulphur Springs Center. He was 79 years old.
He was born on May 17, 1940, in Esty, WV, and was the son of the late John Edgar and Bertha Irene Ayers Snedegar.
Bobby was of the Baptist faith, and was an avid dancer. He also worked as a self-employed auto body mechanic.
Survivors include his first wife, Martha Snedegar; second wife, Ginger Lyall; longtime companion, Lena Mae Keaveney; daughters, Kimberly Snedegar (Shawn Wilson) and Jennifer Snedegar (Bernard Mines); sons, Tommy Snedegar (Martha) and Ronnie Snedegar (Debra); sisters, Margie Stidom, Madeline Yates, and Gladys Corona; brother, Edgar Snedegar; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for Monday, November 18, 2019, at noon at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV, with Pastor Lewis Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery in Renick, WV.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made in Bobby’s memory to the Ronceverte Music Hall, c/o Rusty Arnold, 212 Monroe Ave., Ronceverte, WV 24970.
A covered dish reception will be held at the Renick fire house following the service on Monday.
