Ralph Edward Humphreys Sr., 81, of Fairlea, WV, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019, at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.
Born on April 17, 1938, in Fairlea, WV, he was the son of Charles Sidney and Mary Gladys Smith Humphreys.
Ralph worked most of his career as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Elizabeth Deitz, Margaret L. Childers, and Dorothy L. Quick; brothers, Charles S. and Robert R. Humphreys; and his first wife, Linda E. Hinkle Humphreys.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Bonnie Sue Hammons Humphreys; son, Ralph E. Humphreys Jr. (Angela) of Martinsburg, WV; daughters, Elizabeth A. Humphreys of Lewisburg, WV, and Carole L. Stewardson (Scott) of Roanoke, VA; brothers, James H. Humphreys (Linda) of Bossier City, LA, and Jack E. Humphreys (Alice) of Hinton, WV; grandchildren, Courtney A. Field (Dylan), Samantha L. Humphreys (Mezti Fer Barriere), Meghan A. Stewardson, Lee H. Humphreys, and Harley N. Humphreys; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
It was Ralph’s wish to be cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.
