Emanuel Lee Poe, 80, of Williamsburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the Greenbrier Healthcare Center in Lewisburg, WV.
Born on June 10, 1939, in Renick, WV, he was the son of Carl Henry and Belva Irene White Poe.
Emanuel retired from the WV Department of Transportation. He was a Boy Scout Leader, Lay Speaker for Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, and Training Officer for Williamsburg Fire and Rescue. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to garden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Phyllis Ann Dillion Poe; two sons, Michael Lee Poe and William Joseph “Billy” Poe; sister, Hazel Paulin; brother-in-law, David Paulin; and sister-in-law, Joyce Poe.
Survivors include one daughter, Drema Poe of Middletown, OH; brother, Earl Poe of White Sulphur Springs, WV; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
It was Emanuel’s wish to be cremated.
A memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV 24901. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
