Jimmy Durante Shannon Jr. (Jimmy Dude), 52, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Jimmy was born on March 3, 1967, in Chesapeake, VA, and was the son of Linda Jean Salvemini Stevenson and Jimmy D. Shannon, Sr.
He had lived in Charlotte, NC, and Clifton Forge, VA, prior to living in White Sulphur Springs.
Jimmy was a former truck driver and then a stay at home dad, which was his greatest joy.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Durante Shannon Sr.; stepfather, Robert Steinspring (Stiney); and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca, and daughter, Lillian Grace, of White Sulphur Springs; mother, Linda Stevenson of Clifton Forge; sisters, Tammy Burrows (Clyde) of South Carolina, Tina Shannon of Sharon, VA, and Lisa Holley and Christy Shannon, both of Charlotte; and stepmother, Jackie Shannon Sports of Charlotte.
Jimmy’s greatest joy was being a husband and father. He had such a big heart and only wanted to help those he loved. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 5-6:30 p.m. with a memorial service to immediately follow at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs, with Pastor Ralph Hubbard officiating.
