Phyllis Yates Dotson, 91, of Frankford, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV.
Born on April 5, 1928, in the Vago Community in Frankford, she was the daughter of Andrew Lee and Ada Virginia Boone Yates.
Phyllis retired from the Alderson Federal Prison, worked 15 years at Burlington Industries, and served four years as an activities director for the Shenandoah Adult Care in Clifton Forge, VA.
She was a member of the Lewisburg Community Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Dotson; daughter, Linda Lee Dotson Stacy; sisters, Ruth Yates, Beatrice Yates, Annabel Hughes, Betty Hughes, and Lula Collins; and a brother, Alec Yates.
Survivors are one son, Michael Dotson of Frankford; son-in-law, Tom Stacy of Frankford; grandchildren, Nikki Dotson, whom she raised, of Frankford, Travis Dotson of Ronceverte, WV, Tommi Stacy of Covington, VA, and Ashley Johnson of Arizona; great-grandchildren, Hanley and Jada Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at noon on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV 24901, with Pastor Hat Defibaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Chapel Cemetery in Frankford.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy should be made to the Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
