State Fair to Host School Supply Drive

LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The State Fair of West Virginia in partnership with Communities in Schools of Greenbrier County (CISGC), is set to host a school supply drive on Monday, August 12, at the 99th Annual State Fair!

Fairgoers are asked to bring in three (3) different school supply items OR two (2) hygiene products and pay only $25 for gate admission and carnival rides from 11 AM to 11 PM. Those who do not wish to ride carnival rides will receive a discounted $8 gate admission.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Communities in Schools of Greenbrier County, which does amazing work with kids in our area,” State Fair CEO Kelly Collins stated. “By offering a discount to those who donate, we hope to encourage even more fairgoers to participate and support this incredible organization.”

Supplies may be redeemed at the main tunnel entrance or gate 5 located on 219 North ONLY. All donations will directly benefit students within the region to ensure they have the essential tools needed for academic success.

“As we approach our 20th anniversary, this partnership is an exceptional way to jump start the celebration and another successful school year for local youth,” Brittany Brackenrich Executive Director of CISGC stated. “We are beyond grateful for the State Fair of West Virginia team and for those participating in the school supply drive!”
