LEWIS COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – One man lost his life following an ATV accident in Lewis County. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:
“On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Cpl. M. S. Clark responded to a one vehicle ATV / Side by Side crash near 4000 Fink Creek Road, Lewis County. The victim, James Gum, was operating a Honda Pioneer 1000 with his son, James Gum II on the family farm. The victim lost control and ran over an embankment where both men were ejected from the vehicle. James Gum, 79 of Camden, WV was pronounced dead on scene while his son was transported to Stonewall Memorial Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. The status of this investigation remains active and ongoing.”
