BARBOURSVILLE W.Va. (WVDN) – An escaped inmate was recently captured in the vicinity of the Barboursville Big Lots Shopping Plaza. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:
“On June 24, at approximately 11 a.m., Troopers from the Huntington Detachment received information from Prestonsburg (KY) PD that a jail escapee from Floyd County, identified as 37-year-old Thomas Price, was located at the Best Western just off of I-64 in Barbourville. Troopers and WVSP K-9 units responded to the Best Western in an attempt to apprehend the suspect. The suspect had already checked out and left the hotel on foot.
“On this same date, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Sgt. S.N. Swope received further information from Prestonsburg PD that the suspect was possibly located in the Big Lots Shopping Plaza in Barboursville. Troopers from the Huntington Detachment, Cabell County Sheriff’s Deputies and Barboursville PD units responded to the area and located the suspect, taking him into custody without incident. The suspect was arraigned on the fugitive warrant and lodged in the Western Regional Jail awaiting extradition.”
