SFC David H. Lewis, 68, of Chester, VA, formerly of Williamsurg, WV, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018.
Born June 29, 1950, at Esty, WV, he was the son of Lacy M. and Eula Gladys Lewis.
Mr. Lewis retired from the United States Army, and then went on to retire from the city of Petersburg, VA, as a deputy sheriff.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Don Lewis.
He is survived by is loving wife of 42 years, Dagmar R. Lewis; daughters, Deleath A. Lewis and Stephanie M. Lewis and her fiance, Matt Cooke; siblings, Rona L. Lewis (Anita), Deleath Funk (Joe), Otis Lewis (Wilda), and Hilton Lewis (Donna); sister-in-law, Sandy Lewis; mother-in-law, Margarete Green; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were handled by Chester Chapel of J.T. Morris and Sons Funeral Home at Chester. As per his wishes, he was cremated.
McCraw Funeral Home at Frankford, WV, is in charge of local arrangements, which will be announced at a later date.
