Our beloved mother and prayer warrior, Margaret Evelyn Dotson Childers, went to heaven on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at 1:38 a.m. at The Bowers Hospice House.
Margaret was born in Fayette County on February 10, 1926, to John and Fern Dotson.
Margaret began her career at The Greenbrier as a telephone operator during World War II. She retired many years later from medical records at Raleigh General Hospital. Margaret loved traveling and making numerous quilts. Most importantly, she was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior. Her family knew if prayer was needed, she had the spiritual connection.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Alex James Childers.
She is survived by her son, Johnny K. Childers (Sarah); daughter, Karen Hawkey; son, James W. Childers (Lisa); grandchildren, Tia Daniello (Rob), Jeni Baker (Steve), JJ Childers (Lesley), Tristan Childers, and Aaron and Jordan Shaffer; great-grandchildren, Brenley and Lydia Baker, Alex and Ryan Daniello, and Jade Childers; and great-great-grandchild, Bristol Burns.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the service starting at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2018, at the Melton Mortuary in Beckley, WV.
