Martha Anne Marsh Fleshman, 84, of Lynchburg, VA, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018. She was the loving wife of William J. “Bill” Fleshman for 62 years.
Born November 19, 1933, in Lewis County, WV, she was the daughter of Ernest Earl Marsh and Eva Marie Dawson Marsh.
Martha received her master’s degree in education from Lynchburg College and was a retired school teacher with Campbell County Schools, where she taught at Leesville Road Elementary School with over 30 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, and Sandusky Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David William Fleshman.
She leaves to cherish her memory two children, James Robert Fleshman II and wife, Beverly, of Lynchburg and Stephen Fleshman and wife, Margaret of Concord, VA; a grandson, Chris Fleshman and wife, Cindy, of Tampa, FL; a brother, David Marsh and wife, Carol, of Richwood, WV; a niece, Suzanne Marsh of Morgantown, WV; a nephew, Larry Marsh and wife, Candi, of Richmond, VA; and a grandniece, Samantha Marsh of Richmond.
A celebration of Martha’s life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Services and Crematory by the Rev. Ralph Jackson, with burial to follow at 3:00 p.m. in Lewis Chapel Cemetery in Frankford, WV.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6–8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory 427 Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Seven Hills Hospice and Runk and Pratt in Forest, VA, for their loving care and support.
