Virginia Lemons Surgeon, 91, of Alderson, WV, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, at her home near Wolf Creek, WV.
Born January 26, 1927, at Sinks Grove, WV, she was a daughter of William David and Irene Hedrick Lemons.
Mrs. Surgeon was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother during her lifetime. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her three boys. Mrs. Surgeon was a member of the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church in Alderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Surgeon; son, Melvin Lemons; brother, Roy Lemons; four sisters, Louise Lemons, Hazel Smith, Margaret Cook, and Lucy Smithson; and grandson, Wayne Surgeon.
Survivors include three sons, Johnny Surgeon (Ruth), David Surgeon (fiancée, Anne), and Jack Surgeon (Sue), all of Alderson; very special friend and caregiver, Ethel Wilson of Alderson; grandchildren, Joni Surgeon of Grandview, WV, Katrina Alderson (Willie), and Sandra Byers (Brian), all of Alderson; great-grandchildren, Katelynn and Alyssa Alderson and Annie Byers, all of Alderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Lantz Funeral Home in Alderson, with Pastor Mike Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery, Fletcher Addition.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, from noon until time of services, at the funeral home in Alderson.
