Mildred McMillion Kesler, 98, of Dover, DE, died on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. She had suffered from dementia for many years.
Born October 16, 1919, at Trout, WV, to Foster Nathan McMillion and Edna McDowell McMillion, she graduated from Williamsburg High School and spent most of her adult life in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC.
She was a homemaker and beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed baking sweets and was especially known for her Christmas candy. She worked as a cafeteria baker for Montgomery County, MD, schools for 22 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Elmer Groves Kesler Jr.; and five siblings, Madge Judy, Mabel Hedrick, Robert McMillion, Harold “Buddy” McMillion, and Garland McMillion.
Survivors include her son, Gene Kesler (Kitty) of Supply, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Rego (Vance) of Lewes, DE, and Zachary Kesler (Meredith) of Washington, DC; and great-grandchildren Zane Kesler and Jimmy and Vance Rego, all of Lewes; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church in Wil-liamsburg, WV, with Pastor Roger Williams officiating. Entombment will follow at the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum in Clintonville, WV.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. before the service.
