Frances Jean Kershner, formerly of Ashland, KY, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Louisville, KY.
She was born in Hillsboro, WV, in 1930 and was the daughter of William W. and Hallie M. Clutter.
Mrs. Kershner attended the Second Baptist Church in Ashland for many years and was an active member of the Friendship Class of the Church. She worked at the C & P Telephone Company in Lewisburg, WV, for many years and had many friends and enjoyed traveling with them. After leaving Lewisburg, she lived in Ashland for 54 years, where she enjoyed being a housewife.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John W. Kershner; and a brother, Jack Clutter and his wife, Bonnie, of Second Creek, WV.
Sadly, she leaves behind a son, Douglas Kershner and his wife, Patti, of Shelbyville, KY; sister-in-law, Agnes Simmons of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kershner will be Monday, February 5, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
The family will receive their friends and relatives from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
