Cora Mae DeWitt Hall Hitchcock, 81, of Arlington, VA, formerly of Lewisburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Fairfax Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Cora was born December 26, 1936, at Plum Lake, WI, to Vernon and Ruth DeWitt.
Cora resided in Lewisburg, for several years, where she raised six children and was a homemaker for many of those years. In 1984, she moved to northern Virginia, where she spent the rest of her life. She enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and keeping up with all aspects of the sport. She also enjoyed taking drives with her husband to see places she hadn’t been before.
In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her son, Donald Hall; daughter, Kathy Williams; brothers, Phil and Junior DeWitt; and stepson Mark Hitchcock.
Cora is survived by her husband of 32 years, Theron “Bill” Hitchcock, children Lonnie Hall (Melinda), John Hall (Beverly), and Lisa Howard (Mitch), all of Lewisburg, and Rita Keeney (Sam) of Culpeper, VA; stepdaughter Misty Baker (Bart) of Ronceverte, WV; daughter-in-law, Heather Hitchcock of Ronceverte; sister Alice Grosskreuz (George) of Sayner, WI; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
