The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the death of Clarence Sheppard, age 72, of Rupert. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston for an autopsy, according to a press release issued by Sheriff Bruce Sloan.
The initial call to law enforcement was a request for a welfare check of Sheppard due to a lack of contact with him by acquaintances and family.
