Michael Garfield Sears, 53, of Mt. Nebo, WV, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Bridgeport, WV.
Born July 13, 1964, at Summersville, WV, he was the son of Ralph and Mary Isabell Sears.
Michael worked as a miner and on the pipeline. He became disabled at a young age; he had not been well for several years, and the illness took his life. Michael enjoyed farming. As a child he camped at the family cabin at Rorer on the Greenbrier River, where he fished and hunted. He was a great husband, friend, and brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Carl Jarvis, Danny Sears, and Casey Sears.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Adkins Sears, of Mt. Nebo; three stepsons, John Durrett of Alderson, WV, Johnny Brown of Mt. Nebo, and Michael Brown of Alderson; and sisters, Cindy Roe of Naples, FL, Frances Jarvis Lewis (Pete) of Charmco, WV, and Marsha Workman (Wayne) of Summersville.
Services were held at 2 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Rainelle, WV, with Pastor Troy George officiating. Burial followed at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville, WV.
Friends gathered with the family from 1 PM until time of the service on Sunday.
