Samuel Ivan Morgan, 73, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017, at his residence.
He was born June 19, 1944, at Ronceverte, a son of Ray Forrest and Reva Lee Morgan.
Sam was a livestock broker, loved farming, and was a member of Greystone Baptist Church in Fairlea, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Janie Cole Morgan; a grandson, Samuel A. Morgan; and two brothers, Norman K. Morgan, and Palmer Morgan.
He is survived by two sons, Samuel S. Morgan and wife, Trish, of Wasilla, AK, and Troy C. Morgan and fiancee, Phyllis Jones, of Organ Cave, WV; grandchildren, Shawn Isaac Morgan and wife, Taylor, of Organ Cave, Timothy Garrett Morgan and Matthew Austin Morgan, both of Wasilla, Cole Taylor Morgan of South Carolina, Dakoda Lane Morgan, Cheyenne Dawn Morgan, and “T.J.” Troy Curtis Morgan Jr., all of Organ Cave, and Cassie Lynn Morgan of Wasilla; step-grandchildren, April Jones of New Castle, PA, and Heather Jones, Joseph Jones, and Alissa Jones, all of Organ Cave; and siblings include two sisters, Geraldine Dalton of Ronceverte and Marthena Persinger of King, NC.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 2 PM at Greystone Baptist Church in Fairlea with Pastor Youel Altizer officiating. Interment will follow in the McLean Cemetery in Ronceverte.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of the service at the church on Saturday.
