BEAVER, W.Va. (WVDN) – New River Community and Technical College inducted 13 students into the Beta Zeta Delta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The induction ceremony took place at the Raleigh County Campus in Beaver on Friday, April 21, with students and their families in attendance. The new inductees are Melissa S. Blankenship of Oceana; Tracee E. Byer of Alderson; Kelly Cales of Sinks Grove; Megan G. Daniels of Lindside; Amber L. Duncan of Crab Orchard; Morgan Evans of Shady Spring; Chance Wilson-Gutierrez of Craigsville; Kady Jarrell of Fairdale; Chase D. Messenger of Lester; Bryson Powers of Edmond; Kayla N. Richmond and Taylor Thompson, both of Princeton; and Kimberly Thompson of Peterstown.
Additionally, Beta Zeta Delta Chapter members Christina Lester and Zowie Mullens were named to the All-American Academic Honorary Team for 2023.
PTK, the largest honor society in American higher education, boasts more than 2.5 million members. The organization recognizes and encourages scholarship among students. To be eligible for membership, students must complete at least 12 hours of coursework and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher.
