Aaron “Don” Lewis, 61, of Lewisburg, WV, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017, from a tragic accident.
Born January 12, 1956, at Renick, WV, he was the son of the late Lacy and Gladys Lewis.
Don faithfully attended Sinking Creek Baptist Church. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons after 23 years of service as a construction representative. His correctional career began at Elreno, OK, later transferring to Alderson, WV, Beckley, WV, and back go Alderson. After retirement, Don enjoyed many outdoor activities, hunting, and wood cutting, to name a few.
Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Sandra Hines Lewis, and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Hines, both of Lewisburg; a sister, Deleath Funk (Joe) of Chesterfield, VA; brothers, Ronal Lewis (Anita) of Meadow Bridge, WV, David Lewis (Dagmar) of Chester, VA, Otis Lewis (Wilda) of Williamsburg, WV, and Hilton Lewis (Donna) of White Sulphur Springs, WV; sister-in-law, Jackie Hines of Los Lunas, NM; and aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, September 17, 2017, at McCraw Funeral Home at Lewisburg with the Rev. Mike Tincher officiating. Burial will follow at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens at Lewisburg.
Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, September 16, from 5-8 PM.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers: Daren, Stewart, Jamie, Josh, J.R., Tony, Chris and Brian Lewis, and Michael Funk.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be retirees of Alderson FPC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Run Holiness Church, c/o Otis Lewis, 486 Trout Road, Williamsburg, WV 24991.
