Armella Albertine Johnson
Armella Albertine Johnson, 96, of Lewisburg, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023.
Armella was born August 25, 1926, in Victoria, KS, to the late Joseph Adam and Adelaide Meis Sander.
Armella was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs and was a homemaker who loved to cook and quilt. In her earlier years, she was employed at Walker Air Base in Kansas and helped to paint the Enola Gay, a Boeing B-29 Superfortress Bomber.
Besides her parents, Armella is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Dwain Johnson; 3 sisters; 5 brothers; daughter-in-law, Cookie Johnson; and son-in-law, Roger L. Sheppard.
Surviving include daughter, Margie L. Sheppard; son, Robert D. “Bob” Johnson; 4 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs with Father Jim Conyers officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lewisburg.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Roof Fund.
