Robert “Doc” Morris Deskin, 89, of Fairlea, WV, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Greenbrier Health Care Center in Fairlea.
Mr. Deskin was born April 1, 1928, in Sinks Grove, WV, the son of William Lester and Inez Mullens Deskins.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, member of the First Baptist Church of Fairlea, former member and chief of the Fairlea Fire Department, a retired salesman for Allis-Chalmers Tractor Company, and member of the Appalachian American Indians of West Virginia.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Rose Deskin; brother, William M. Deskins; and sisters, Mary Sword, Hazel Harmon, and Thelma O’Brien.
Surviving are his daughters, Deb McIntire of Fairlea and Lori Williams and husband, Jim, of Lewisburg, WV; grandchildren, Angie Wilson (Jeremy) of North Carolina and Justin McIntire (Christina) of Charleston, WV; great-grandchildren, Ethan Wilson, Emma Wilson, Claire McIntire, and Rosaleigh McIntire; sister, Leona Cindia of Canton, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 11 AM at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with the Rev. Ron Miller officiating. Internment followed at the Green Hill Cemetery in Union, WV.
The family visited with relatives and friends from 10 AM until time of the funeral on Wednesday.
