CARTER
Jerry Wayne Carter, 75, of Alderson, WV, was called home to be with the Lord on February 16, 2023. Jerry was born on December 28, 1947. He was the son of the late Harold Benson and Norma Jean Wenger Carter.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, he worked as a Night Cleaner at The Greenbrier Hotel for many years. Jerry loved the Lord and to attend church. Anyone who knew him will remember his love of vehicles and family gatherings.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary; sister, Candice; and an infant twin grandson, Thomas.
Joyce Ann and Jerry were married for fifty-five years. In addition to Joyce, his sons, Mark (Michelle) and James, and daughter, Pamela, will cherish their memories of the loving man he was forever. His brothers, Edward, Dennis (Martha), and Joseph (Tammy), will have a large place in their hearts from the love he showed them all.
Jerry’s grandchildren, Mark W. Carter, II, Nathan Carter, Kendell Glover, Christopher Carter, Melissa Bostic, Sierra Falls, and Haley Falls, knew he loved them unconditionally.
His great-grandchildren, Elana Carter, Adrian Carter, Tommy Carter, Nathan Carter, II, Meridian Hamilton, Makota Hamilton, Nevaeh King, Blake Weikle, Tinley Weikle, and Onyx Moore, held a special place in Jerry’s heart.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with the service following at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 142 Church Street, White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia 24986. The Reverend Gregory Scott will be officiating the service.
Burial will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery.
