Eight students from the Greenbrier East FFA Chapter traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the 95th National FFA Convention and Expo.
In order to go, students must be involved, have good attendance, have good grades and be free of any discipline referrals. This year, Baylee Burns, Hailey Elmore, Abby Hawver, Elizabeth Kesterson, Kymberlyn Morgan and Kaley Scott were given the opportunity to attend.
On Wednesday, October 25, the chapter left Greenbrier East at 8:30 a.m., traveled to Dayton, Ohio, and toured the National Air Force Museum. The next day, they visited the Indiana Convention Center, where the FFA convention was held, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and watched a Lauren Alaina and Jimmie Allen concert in the evening.
On Thursday, they visited the Indianapolis Zoo and went back to the convention center.
On Friday, the group toured the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, went to the convention and watched a rodeo to finish up the day. On Saturday, October 29, they left Indianapolis and returned home to Greenbrier County.
While at the convention center, students were able to attend national sessions, do activities provided by various booths, meet famous influencers such as Dale Brisby and meet people from all over the United States, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
