Julian R. Sams, 91, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away early Thursday morning, July 21, 2016, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, WV.
Born April 5, 1925, at Nuttallburg, WV, he was a son of Hubert Hamilton Sams and Mabel Florence Counts Sams.
Julian worked 41 years as a route salesman for Coca-Cola in Ronceverte, serving the White Sulphur Springs, WV, area. He was a faithful member of Ronceverte First Church of God. He was a caring man who loved his family and cherished each of his friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hodges Sams, in 2012.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Porterfield and husband, Ronald, of Covington, GA; two granddaughters, Gina Bergeron and husband, Geoffrey, and Julie Donaldson and husband, Jackie; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV, with Pastors Richard Smith and Everette Defibaugh officiating. Burial will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
