Harry Moffett Knight, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at his residence in Lewisburg, WV.
He graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Animal Science degree. He was a lifelong farmer of Knightland Farm in Lewisburg, a charter member of the Richlands Ruritan Club, a Farmers Home Administration county supervisor, board member of the Greenbrier Valley Soil Conservation District, member of the Benevolent Order of Elks (BOE) Lodge #1758, member of the Lewisburg Lions Club, and a lifelong member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Woodsie Poage Knight; his father, Harry Winters Knight; and a brother-in-law, John P. Garnett.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Esther Louise Middaugh Knight; sister, Julia Poage Knight Garnett; sons and grandchildren, Harry M. Knight II (Kathleen) and granddaughter, Kady Ann Knight, Thomas Irving Knight (Cindi) and grandson, Thomas Irving Knight II, James W. Knight and grandson, James Harold Guay, Robert L. Knight and granddaughter, Kylee Morgan Knight, and grandsons, Remington Cade Knight and Campbell Reese Knight; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Greenbrier Valley Hospice Care, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
