Melva Delphia Fink Walthall, 90, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, to join her beloved husband of 63 years, Roy Lawrence Walthall.
She died at the home of her daughter, Sandra McClendon (Dee) in Corinth, TX, with family by her side.
She was born August 16, 1925, at home in Clayton, WV, to Norban Edgar and Emma Susan Ballengee Fink.
She served her family with love and determination to be a model wife, mother, and friend to all. She was an excellent cook and seamstress with perfection as her goal. She served her God through singing and serving, by arranging altar flowers each week from her own flower garden and untold meals and prayers for those in need. She was truly the Proverbs 31 woman.
She was the last of her generation from the Ballengee, Fink, and Walthall families. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Virginia, Hamer, Kathleen, Leota, Miller, and Dale Fink.
She is survived by sons, Michael Walthall (Wanda) of Mississippi and Richard Walthall (Bren) of Virginia and six grandchildren, Todd McClendon (Emily), Scott McClendon (Kathleen), Justin Walthall, Wesley Walthall, William Walthall, and Natalie Walthall. The light of her life these last few years was time spent with her precious great-grandchildren, Jackson, Kamryn, and Evan. They loved their “GG” and her farm, and that brought her great joy.
Services will be held at Morgan Funeral Home, 429 N. Jefferson Street, Lewisburg, WV, on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 11 AM with evangelist Randy S. Burdette officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the Walthall family requests donations be made to Clayton Cemetery Trust in care of Melvin Ryan, 1387 E. Clayton Road, Alderson, WV 24910.
Online condolences may be made at www.morganfh.net tribute wall.
