James “Jimmy” Lewis Waid of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, after a sudden illness.
Born June 29, 1954, in White Sulphur Springs, he was a son of the late James L. and Agnes J. Dolin Waid.
He was a detail worker in transportation at The Greenbrier. Jimmy was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Christ in Fairlea, WV. He wrote songs and sang them in the church. He was also an artist and loved to do craft work.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Waid, at home; brothers and sisters, Bernie G. Waid, Kathy Martin (Emory D.), Larry C. Waid (Dianne), Lester W. Waid (Sheila), Lucy L. Ridgeway (Johnny), Evelyn M. Ridgeway (Paul), and Steve R. Waid (Nicole); nieces and nephews, Emory Jr. Martin, Larry Waid Jr., Joshua and Matthew Waid, Jessica and Rebecca Ridgeway, P.J. and Priscilla Ridgeway, and Lacy and Summer Waid.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Calvin Wykle officiating. Burial will follow in Mapledale Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until funeral time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given toward funeral costs.
