Cleva Lenora Scitzs, 88, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016.
Born June 5, 1927, in White Sulphur Springs, WV, she was the daughter of Ashby and Lilia Virginia Hardiman Dolin.
Cleva was a member of the Alvon United Methodist Church at Alvon, WV. She worked 30 years in the main kitchen at The Greenbrier. She loved to cook and can, was a baby sitter for many White Sulphur Springs area children, and was a caregiver for many of her family. Cleva enjoyed her children’s sports with them, including fishing, hunting, baseball, riding, bicycling, and even motorcycling one time with her son, Gary.
Preceding her in death, other than her parents, are her brothers and sisters, Little Champ Clark Dolin, Irean Crizer, Palmer P. Dolin, Helen Waid, Linzey P. Dolin, Audrey Landrum, Agnes Waid, and Erma Gray Lipscomb.
Surviving are her children, Bernadean “Bernie” G. Cook of Beckley, WV, and Gary Lynn Scitzs of Lewisburg, WV; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and her brother, Hillard Morris Dolin of Alvon.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 12 PM at the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs with Pastor William David Harman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations for the funeral expenses sent to Shanklin Funeral Home Inc., P.O. Box 238, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986.
