Lois F. Burns, 86, of Fort Spring, WV, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV.
Lois was born July 5, 1929, in Mount Vernon (Fort Spring), the daughter and last remaining child of the union of Jubal Early and Mary Alice Young Arbaugh.
She was of the Methodist faith and retired after 29 years of service with The West Virginia Daily News and Greenbrier Valley Ranger.
Preceding her in death, other than her parents, were her husband, Milburn “Dick” Burns; sisters, Mabel Gwinn, Arlene Brown, Betty Stevens, and Doris Porterfield; and a brother, John Arbaugh.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 10 AM at the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Fort Spring, with Pastor Stewart Farley officiating.
Upon Lois’ request, there will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions to either the Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901 or the Greenbrier County Animal Shelter, 151 Holliday Lane, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
