Carol Jane Parker, 62, of Rainelle, WV, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, in Huntington, WV, after a long illness.
She was born June 30, 1952, in Rainelle, Greenbrier County, WV, a daughter of the late John Coolidge and Mildred Dorne Underwood Parker.
She was a graduate of Greenbrier West High School and Concord College. She was active in the Rainelle Jaycees, the Rainelle Public Library, and several other community and county services. Carol was employed by the Kroger Company in Lewisburg and later in Rainelle.
Survivors include two sisters, Melissa Gilbert and husband, Dusty, of Daniels, WV, and Deborah Parker-Snavely and husband, Joe, of Huntington; and two nieces, Ashton Gilbert of Beckley, WV, and Amanda Largent and husband, Dexter, of Newington, CT.
She will be missed by a host of family and friends.
There will be a celebration of life held at Smathers Funeral Home in Rainelle on Saturday, February 7, 2015, from 1-3 PM.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Rainelle Public Library.
